May 21, 2011 - Rapture...Oct 21, 2011 End of the World....NOT !!!

False Prophetic Van driving around the area

Last week, I saw an interesting van parked at McDonald's. The entire van was covered in warnings. “The World is going to end on Oct 21, 2011, The Rapture is going to occur On May 21, 2011” At first I thought, “What in the world?” Then I took out my camera and got a couple of pictures. (See above & below)
False prophetic van @ McDonald's

Then my heart started to break...more deception, more lies, more smearing of Christianity. You see, I've heard this before. I've seen first hand how people take advantage of others at time of weakness. They are predators, they are con-artists, false prophets and lairs. I know that as you are reading this, some will agree with me, some will disagree with me and some will just laugh me off.

Christianity right now is so segmented and I don't want to open up the debate of pre, mid, post tribulation rapture. And I know of others that don't believe that there will be a rapture. I do not doubt your sincerity of your beliefs on which position you take. I just think that so much focus is given to the subjective parts of the Bible instead of the objective parts of the Bible. In other words, many people put major focus on the minor parts of Christianity instead of putting the major focus on the majors of Christianity.

What do I mean by major parts of Christianity – The Nicene Creed is a good place to start.
"We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father [and the Son]. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic (the word catholic means universal) and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. AMEN."
To sum it up – On May 21 the rapture will NOT happen....On October 21 the world will NOT end. I suggest that you do what Jesus said though...it is found in Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
Have a great day friends. :)

  1. Greetings Timothy

Indeed these predictions are false and deceptive.
However, equally just as false is the creed you propose!
Because, this creed is not the creed of Jesus, nor of his disciples.

In contrast to the Nicene Creed:
    Jesus solely identified the Father
    as the only true GOD.
    [John 17.3]
Paul & the early church concurred:
(1 Cor 8:4) ... that there is none other God but one.
(1 Cor 8:6) But to us there is but one God, the Father, ...

There is simply no talk of another who is God of God, true God of true God, begotten, not made, etc.

Rather, the creed of Jesus is the Shema, Deut 6.4ff

(Mark 12:28-32) And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is,
Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. 32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

It ought to be obvious then, that neither Jesus nor the scribe, subscribed to the notions of
a God of God, true God of true God spoken of in the Nicene creed!

    Therefore, I recommend this video:
    The Human Jesus

Take a couple of hours to watch it; and prayerfully it will aid you in your quest for truth.

  2. I disagree with you Adam - God is 3 in one. Looks like we will have to agree to disagree :) Blessings,

    John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD.

    Hebrews 1:8
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O GOD, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

    Titus 2:13
    Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the THE GREAT GOD and our Saviour JESUS CHRIST;

  4. It is written that Jesus will return "as a theif in the night" No one will know the day nor the hour. My best reaction to Christs return is not weather its a rapture or not, but that if Christ is coming soon , and I think that much is obvious, then we best be ready. I know this - the devil is working really hard and he's not working to get the ones he already has, but to win over the undecided and people who already are saved......Satan won't give up till the last moment but though God's Grace alone, our salvation is rock solid and always available to those who will accept it. Now is the time to pray without ceasing.
