At the beach - in March !

Southampton Beach - in March
Sun, clear skies, cold temperatures - I'll take it. In a few short months, this area will be filled with beach goers, swimmers, cottagers, tourists and boaters. I was the only one on the beach...very peaceful. Just the bids flying overhead and the ice groaning as it fights to stay together. In the quiet, in the stillness, in the peacefulness I found myself thinking - how many grains of sand are under my feet? I couldn't count them if I tried. They are uncountable. Millions, no Billions, maybe Trillions of grains ...uncountable, then it hit me - that is how much love God has for us!
Psalm 139:17-18

King David wrote about this. "How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!
I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me! Psalm 139:17-18.
Often as the hours, days, weeks, years pass us by, we are caught in the business of life. What we need to do, where  we need to go, who we need to please, when is my next appointment, why are things not going my way....the questions of life.... I challenge you - take a few minutes, turn off the t.v., radio, computer or anything else that can be distracting you - and spend that time with God. Just you and Him. Thank Him, magnify Him, honour Him and realize that He loves you !!!

Have a great day friends !

Trust in your father

My youngest son is just a little over a year and a half. I love watching him walk around. Each day, he walks better. He's trying to run now...trying.  One thing that I love is taking him for a walk. I lower my hand, he grabs a couple of my fingers and a way we go. As we walk, he looks up at me, smiling. He knows that he is secure. He knows that if he stumbles, I won't let him fall. He has confidence in me.
I can imaging that king David had a similar experience. Walking with his children, directing their path. The reason that I say this is because as I read Psalm 37, that is the imagery that pops out at me. A father walking with his child. Carefully watching, carefully directing, carefully protecting.  Now lets take it one step further - Our Heavenly father looks at us as His children. he delights as we trust Him. He is concerned about out lives. He is there for us. Psalm 37:23-24 says "The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.  Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand."
Today, reach out to Him. Grasp His hand. Trust in His leading. :)

Going off-line for a bit...

In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.  Psalm 5:3

The snow is gently falling from the sky. The wind is still. What a wonderful day but this will be my last blog for a couple of days. Writers block - no. Tired, yes. I finished a Health & Safety Manual for my previous workplace last week. 32 subsections (harassment policy & plan, violence policy & plan, Lock-out, Blood born Pathogens, Confined Space etc,..and 16 Appendices (forms, emergency plans, evacuation plan hazard analysis etc, etc, etc) - a few hundred pages.3 1/2 weeks of researching, organizing, writing, formatting, printing and then presenting...Now I need to rest from the computer for a bit. I'm probably going cold turkey with Facebook for a few days also.
Have a great day friends - in a few days I hope to be writing again. Take care :)
